Our Terms of Service & Guarantees

By purchasing an animal from Slithers & Lizards, you (“Buyer”) agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms are considered "accepted" the moment funds exchange from buyer to seller (Slithers & Lizards). These policies are in place to protect both the Buyer and the Seller.

Health Guarantee

All animals are guaranteed to be healthy, properly eating, and free of visible illness or injury at the time of sale or pickup. The Buyer has a 5-day health guarantee beginning on the date of pickup or delivery. During this 5-day period, if a licensed reptile/exotic veterinarian confirms in writing that the animal was ill prior to pickup and the illness is not due to improper care, injury, or neglect after transfer, the Buyer may request:

  • A replacement animal of equal value (if available), or

  • A refund at the Seller’s discretion.

After the 5-day period, no refunds, replacements, or guarantees apply. The Seller cannot be responsible for the animal’s environment, care, or exposure once it leaves their possession.

Shipping & Pickup

Animals are shipped only under safe weather conditions and to approved FedEx or UPS hub locations (if shipping is offered).

  • Buyer must pick up shipped animals within 2 hours of arrival to the hub or the live-arrival guarantee is void.

  • If Buyer does not pick up an animal from a meetup or holds it beyond an agreed date, deposits/payments are non-refundable.

If the buyer requests delivery to a home or private address, the live arrival guarantee is void. Failure to pick up promptly also voids any guarantee.

Agreement

By purchasing an animal, the Buyer acknowledges that:

  • They have read and understood these terms.

  • They accept responsibility for the animal’s care after leaving the seller's care.

  • They have proper knowledge of the animal's care and needs.

  • And they agree to the policies listed above.

Buyer Responsibilities

To maintain the health guarantee, the Buyer must:

  • Provide proper temperature, humidity, enclosure and diet immediately upon receiving the animal.

  • House the animal individually unless otherwise advised.

  • Seek veterinary care promptly if concerns arise.

  • Notify the Seller within the 5-day window if an issue occurs.

Failure to follow appropriate care practices voids the health guarantee.

Sex, Lineage & Morph Accuracy

Any stated sex, morph, or lineage is based on the Seller’s best knowledge at the time of sale.

  • Sex is not guaranteed for juveniles.

The Seller is not liable for future coloration, pattern changes, or development changes over time.

Returns & Surrender Policy

If at any point you no longer want or can care for the animal:

  • We will always take the animal back, no questions asked.

  • The buyer is responsible for shipping costs to return it.

  • The animal must be healthy to ship. Pictures and weight will be provided before shipping.

  • No refunds are given for surrendered animals.

  • Upon the return of a surrendered animal, the buyer forfeits all previous rights and ownership of that animal.

  • Upon receiving the surrendered animal, Slithers & Lizards are now considered the rightful owner of the animal.

This ensures the animal always has a safe home and does not end up neglected or abandoned.

Refund and Return Policy

No refunds, or returns are granted after the 5-day guarantee period under any circumstances.

The Seller is not responsible for:

  • Injury

  • Neglect

  • Improper husbandry

  • Illness caused by the buyer’s environment

  • Failed breeding attempts

  • Stress from shipping or rehoming

  • Veterinary bills after transfer

  • Appetite changes

  • Growth development after purchase

Payment Terms

All sales are final after the 5-day health window.

Payments, deposits, and holds are non-refundable unless the Seller cancels the sale.

Payment plans (if offered) must be completed on time or the animal may be relisted without refund.

Right to Refuse Sale & Underage Buyers

Buyers must be 18 years or older or have a parent/guardian complete the purchase.

The Seller reserves the right to refuse or cancel a sale if they feel the animal will not receive proper care. Any canceled sale by the Seller will be fully refunded.
